I first made this suggestion in 2024 regarding GLPI 10. Since the transition to GLPI 11, the Business Rules engine for assets have been enhanced with the ability to use the item name as a criterion and assign an inventory number or a technical group as an action, which addresses the first set of examples in cases studies mentioned above. I would like to thank the GLPI developers for this very useful update.
However, the ability to use the element’s model as a criterion and assign a type as an action is still missing to address the second set of examples mentioned above.
